VANCOUVER COMIC ARTS FESTIVAL

The Vancouver Comic Arts Festival is fast becoming a beloved tradition here in Vancouver. Slightly different then a comic convention, this festival taking place on May 18-9 at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Yaletown is a celebration of the amazing graphic art you can find in comics. Incredible independent artists will be there selling prints and one-of-a-kind collectibles that are more than just capes and spandex – they’re works of art in and of themselves. Meet dozens of fascinating and up-and-coming creators!

MODIFIED GHOST FESTIVAL IV

One of Vancouver’s hottest new music festivals is also one of the most underground. Modified Ghost is a four-day festival featuring the most jarring, bone-shaking acts in metal, punk, hardcore and industrial. Taking place at the Rickshaw (Vancouver’s most underground venue) May 23 to 26 you can catch incendiary acts like VOIVOID, Converge, High on Fire and many more.
This festival isn’t for everybody, but if you like the kind of music you can feel rattling your sternum then it is absolutely for you.

ARMIN VAN BUUREN

This legendary DJ will be performing at the PNE Forum on May 18! This Dutch legend holds the record for most dance and electronic entries in the Billboard charts of all time and has been a hero of the trance scene since 2001. If you want to DANCE, there is no better opportunity than this show! Grab your glowsticks and dayglow pacifier and party like it’s 2003.
