The Best Farmer’s Markets in Vancouver

Now that we’ve made it to May, the farmers’ markets are finally reopening in Vancouver. And for those that don’t know, there are tons of artisan and farmers’ markets all over the city, from White Rock to Kitsilano to Lonsdale Quay. Whether you’re looking for fresh fruit and vegetables or handmade preserves, you can find it all at the three farmers’ markets below.

There’s no better place to spend a Sunday morning than at the Kitsilano Farmers’ Market. This market is a local institution and is one of the most popular farmers’ markets in the city of Vancouver. It opened the first weekend of May and will run every Sunday until the middle of October. With over 50 vendors, you can find almost anything at the Kitsilano Farmers’ Market. Whether you’re looking for organic produce, locally-made cheese, meat, or handmade artisanal gifts, you can bet it’s here.

Say hello to Metro Vancouver’s best farmers’ market, the White Rock Farmers’ Market. As one of the largest markets in all of Vancouver, it is a must-visit. Running every Sunday from May until mid-October, the White Rock Farmers’ Market can be found in Miramar Plaza. The market is open on Sundays from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm and during this time, as many as 50 vendors take up residence. This makes for a delightful variety of items, including fruit and vegetables, soaps, pasta, honey, clothing, preserves, and dried legumes – all locally made or grown.

Head to North Vancouver to enjoy the Lonsdale Quay Artisan Farmers’ Market. Open on Saturdays from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm, this small but mighty farmers’ market runs from May to October. It typically has a dozen vendors on any given Saturday, which makes it the perfect complement to the Lonsdale Quay Public Market, located right next door.

If you’re going to be in Vancouver this spring, summer, or fall, then be sure to check out at least one of the city’s many farmers’ markets. And if you’re looking for a place to stay during your visit, there’s no better spot than the Hotel BLU Vancouver
