How to Celebrate Halloween 2020 in Vancouver

It’s almost October 31st, which means it’s time to start planning how you’re going to spend Halloween 2020. Despite the ongoing pandemic, Vancouver is stepping up and hosting all kinds of outdoor, COVID-friendly Halloween events for the whole family to enjoy. From spooky ghost tours to Surrey’s Halloween Scream Train, check out this list of the top three ways to celebrate Halloween 2020 in Vancouver.

FORBIDDEN VANCOUVER: THE LOST SOULS OF GASTOWN WALKING TOUR

Enter one of Vancouver’s oldest and creepiest neighbourhoods for Forbidden Vancouver: The Lost Souls of Gastown Walking Tour. Follow your guide as they tell you the tales of murder, revenge, fatal fires, and smallpox that still haunt the now-trendy neighbourhood. Part ghost tour, part performance theatre event, this outdoor tour is taking place throughout the month of October.

BEAR CREEK PARK: HALLOWEEN SCREAM TRAIN 2020

Bear Creek Park is back with their annual Halloween Scream Train. This Halloween tradition will see you and your friends boarding a scary train and riding through a haunted forest. Keep your eyes peeled, as these aren’t your ordinary woods. Expect to see ghosts, ghouls, and urban legend Chainsaw Charlie. There will be plenty of creepy sounds and special effects throughout the ride. The Halloween Scream Train is happening nightly between October 16 and 31, and is $13 per person.

MORGUE GHOST TOURS

The Vancouver Police Museum & Archives is hosting a special Halloween event this year, known as the Morgue Ghost Tours. Let the Northern Paranormal Investigations and Paranormal Spectrum Investigations guide you through the nearly 100-year-old building late at night. Guests will be invited to walk through the Old City Morgue and the restricted City Analyst’s Laboratory. Along the way, you will hear stories from paranormal investigators about who they have found roaming the halls of this very building. Please note that groups are limited to eight people and face masks are mandatory.

If you’re visiting Vancouver this Halloween season, then be sure to reserve a room at the Hotel BLU Vancouver. We combine top-notch service and family-friendly amenities with an unbeatable location near some of the top Halloween attractions in the city.
