Check Out the Best of the Best in Vancouver This December!
Halfway through November, and there’s Christmas stuff EVERYWHERE. Christmas songs are piped into all the supermarkets, decorations were put up two weeks ago and will stay for another two months, and the air is charged with the stress of holiday visits already.
You couldn’t be more sick of it already.
Come to Vancouver. We’re not saying that Vancouver isn’t swept up in holiday madness – it is – but that doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself to the best the city has to offer to take a break from the omnipresence of the holidays.
MARUTAMA RAMEN
When the weather’s cold, there’s nothing wrong with getting a little cozy – especially over a steaming hot bowl of delicious ramen, in a warm little shop tucked away from the beaten path. That’s what you’ll find at Marutama in Vancouver’s West End. Located just off of Vancouver’s famous Robson Street, this is Japanese street food at its finest. All of these delicious noodle bowls are fantastic, but make sure you order the soy-marinated egg – they are famous for them at Marutama, and the way the vividly orange yolk combines with the amazing tonkatsu broth is to die for. This is a treat, a moment for yourself to be savoured.
ALLEN STONE
A true soul innovator, Allen Stone has exploded onto the scene, serving up honest, playful, and unpretentious R&B that reflects the here and now. Stone channels the sounds and spirit of the 60s and 70s, reflecting them to our times and elevating both. He will be playing at the Commodore Ballroom on December 12 with special guest Nick Waterhouse, and believe us – this will be the last, greatest party of the year until the year itself ends. Don’t miss it.
